The Red Room at The Connaught
The Red Room is the Connaught hotel’s secret hideaway, with a velvet-curtained doorway concealing the Red Room’s entrance.
Inside The Red Room at The Connaught
Designed to showcase works in red, this cocooned area is designed by Bryan O’Sullivan in a soft palette that effortlessly complements the artwork. Each of the four pieces is the work of a female visionary, with ‘I Am Rouge’ by Louise Bourgeois taking centre stage above the fireplace. Bourgeois’ piece is joined by works in crimson and scarlet from Jenny Holzer, Tia-Thuy Nguyen and a single photographic piece by Trina McKillen, whilst flanking the fireplace are two striking, vast glass panels in vivid reds and blues by celebrated British artist Brian Clarke – the only male exhibited in the Red Room.
